31 Weeks!
How could I possibly have only 9 weeks left until I have this baby? Yikes! We went to childbirth class last night again and I think it freaked Chad out a little. It freaked me out a little for sure. You know on a Baby Story they don't show everything and I think they try to make the mother look cute. The women in the movie we saw were looking ROUGH, really really rough. Of course, they didn't have the beauty of the epidural, which I know doesn't always work or I know I may encounter a circumstance where the epidural isn't an option, but after watching that video last night I hope to become very close friends with the anestsiologist.
Of course the childbirth instructor is quite ANTI-epidural but whatever, she isn't having this baby, I am, so she can go fly a kite for all I care! Anyway, I just wanted to check in and show off my newest pic. I got my haircut so it was a good day for a picture! I hope everyone is well. I am continuing to work on my classroom to get everything ready for a new bunch of little darlings! I hope they don't tire me out too much, yeah right!

The Nursery Progress
I just realized that I haven't really shown much progress on the nursery stuff for a while. Many of you have seen many of these pictures but I wanted to make a post of some pics that are the most recent with even more stuff in the room. I am going to IKEA tomorrow and I am sure I will find some stuff to use there. I really like IKEA, its so big and stuff is so cheap and fun! So, without further ado . . .

New Stuff
So, sometimes I feel like we are getting stuff too early for this baby but then I think, hmmmm, we only have like 10 1/2 weeks left and frankly once school starts I am not going to have lots of time to shop around for stuff. So, though it seems early, things are starting to come together. Today in the Target add they had the travel system (carseat/carrier + stroller combo) on sale and we just returned something for my mom so we decided to get the system from my mom for my shower in a couple of weeks. Works for us because we can get it locally and take it right home and get it set up, works for mom because we take care of all of the details! Also, we picked up the travel swing she ordered for us as well. So, we set up the swing and the travel system today. We also have lots of clothes (hmmm, from mom again, she may be getting excited too!) to show off, including an outfit for his baptism (no little weird suits with bowties here). I will post a couple of pictures here but there are lots more here.

My night in Labor and Delivery!
Oh boy! First let me say, I am just fine and the baby is just fine. My mom, Aunt Pat, and I got into a very small fender bender on Thursday at about 5:45 p.m. We were exiting the highway and inching forward to see if cars were coming and the dude behind us thought we were going so he hit the gas and rear-ended us. My poor mom hit her head so while I was asking her if she was okay, my aunt and my mom were like . . . FORGET ABOUT US! HOW ARE YOU! Then it occurred to me, oh yeah, I'm 7 months pregnant. I described it last night as having something around so much that you seriously forget. Like if you had an 11th toe, after a while it wouldn't occur to you that it was any different. But anyway, my seat belt was under my belly and we were stopped and the other guy wasn't going fast at all. But, of course as soon as my big pregnant belly emerged from the car the guy who hit us kinda freaked out. I have that effect on people nowadays.
So, I called the ob after hours line to see if they wanted me to come in (crossing my fingers that they would say just come in tomorrow) yeah right. I had to go in and be monitored for 4 HOURS! UGH!!!!
So, Chad and I went home got some books, said goodbye to mom because she didn't need to sit around l&d all night, then we got some McDonald's and went to the hospital. Before we even got there mom called and was like, I can't stand to go home, I need to know you are okay, so she came to the hospital too!
I got hooked up to the monitor at about 8 p.m. so I knew I would be there until midnight. They said I had to lay on my back until they could rule out that I was having contractions and then I could lay on my side. They said it would be 20 minutes. An hour later the nurse came in and was poking around at stuff and I asked if I could lay on my side. But she said NO! Ugh again! It turns out I was having contractions, though I didn't feel them. So then after a while and lots of contractions the doctor came in and said that I had to stay for 24 HOURS!!!!! He asked if that would be okay, I wanted to say, don't give me a choice buddy or you may not like what I say. Anyway, I decided to stay.
I finally moved to my overnight room (out of triage) at 1 a.m. and by the time I settled in etc, it was late, late, late. Chad and mom left just before 2 a.m. so they could go to bed. My baby was SO busy and moving SO much that the monitor kept not detecting him. I wasn't worried about it for a minute because he moved and moved and moved so much that I knew he was just fine. So the nice nurse came in constantly until about 4 a.m. when the baby finally went to sleep and stayed on the monitor without moving away. So, I slept from 4 a.m. - 7 a.m. A whopping three hours. Over that time, however, my contractions pretty much stopped which is great news. The doctor came in at about 11 a.m. and told me that I didn't have to stay the whole 24 hours and that I could go home!!! YAY!! So, my mom brought me home and I finally ate (I didn't even get water until 1 a.m. and then I had a clear liquid breakfast, ick!) so I was hungry and then I slept for 3 hours in my own comfy bed. I am so glad to be home and not have those pesky contractions any more. As eager as I am to meet the baby I would still like him to wait quite a few more weeks. Of course he only has 11 more weeks until I am sending him an eviction notice!
I hope everyone is well and had a better night than I did last night. I am so glad to be home, I am so glad to be done with my classes this summer, and I am so glad to not have to go to work for a couple more weeks!
